St. Gabriel's Catholic School

The Journey Ahead

"And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity."

Dear St. Gabriel’s Catholic School Community,
We hope this letter finds you and your family safe and healthy. It is with sincere gratitude that we extend our appreciation to all of you who have been so supportive and patient in these times.

In the last week of May a Task Force was formed to determine the path forward for providing our children with the exceptional educational experience they deserve while maintaining a safe and healthy on-campus environment for all of the stakeholders within our community. In addition to the work and analysis performed by the Task Force, an incredible amount of preparation and planning has been undertaken by our faculty, staff and administration with the support of our Board of Trustees. The tireless effort and unselfish leadership of our faculty and staff in these times has been truly impressive to witness!

St. Gabriel’s plan for returning to school for the 2020-2021 school year is outlined below. This plan was developed to allow for family choice, with a principal focus on the wellbeing of our community while remaining mindful of our mission to deliver the extraordinary St. Gabriel’s experience.

In addition to this timeline, there are several important steps for you as a family:

  • Read the Messenger.  This week you will be provided information about your Grade Level Parent Information Sessions.

  • An election form regarding your choice of on-campus or remote learning has been provided for you on the mySGCS platform.  This form is due to be completed no later than August 10, 2020.

Finally, in addition to serving as good examples to our children and caring for our faculty by following the recommended health and hygiene practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we must lead our children through these difficult times by displaying the cardinal virtues of prudence, justice, fortitude and temperance.  This fall there will be many questions to answer, frustrations might arise and seemingly insurmountable obstacles may present themselves.  As a community working together we will persevere and flourish, providing a superior educational experience in a loving Catholic environment that calls forth excellence in the lives of our students.

God Bless,
